The Sierra Leone Union of Postal and Telecommunication Employees (SLUPTE) eas founded on 30th of April 1980, with the sole aim of promoting the interest of Workers in the Postal and Telecomunication industry. It is a registered Trade Union organization under the laws of Sierra Leone (CAP221) of 1932 and it is representing workers in the Postal and Telecommunication Sector.
It was formed with the cardinal objective to protect the economic interest of the workers and ensures a resonable wage for them, so that it can improve the economic lot fo workers by securing higher wages, bonus, allowances and perquisites.
It is also an affiliate to Sierra Leone Labour Congress. It holds the Bargaining Certification to negotiate Terms and Conditions of service of workers by the Public Utility Trade Group Council (workers at Sierratel, Orange, Africell, Qcell, Salpost, DHL, and all workers at IGT&ISP and Telecoms Regulatory Agency or Commission).
